Graduation

Participation in the graduation ceremony is an opportunity and is not a protected right. Participation may be denied as a disciplinary measure, or if a student refuses to comply with graduation ceremony standards established and developed at Woods Cross High School. Students who do not meet graduation requirements will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.     

Woods Cross High School maintains a tradition of a formal and dignified ceremony.  Please do not do anything that would distract from our established tradition.  We request that students wear their best dress underneath their graduation robes. Cultural or religious graduation regalia will be accepted, providing the regalia is of broadly recognized cultural or religious significance. Regalia must not be distracting to the ceremony or to the graduate. Questions regarding regalia should be directed to Mr. Mike Moss at mdmoss@dsdmail.net. The Dee Events Center does not allow balloons, confetti, or air horns. Parents wishing to honor their graduates with flowers, candy, or leis are asked to do so after the ceremony. 

 Individual photographs are professionally taken as students receive their diploma. Only ceremony participants are allowed within the ceremony area. Family members and friends are asked to stay in the seating areas. Students will return gowns and pick up their diplomas after the ceremony.    

 We appreciate the efforts of faculty, administration, staff, and parents to make the end of the year and the graduation ceremony special for graduating seniors. If you have any questions, please call the main office (801-402-4500) or the counseling office (801-402-4507).  Congratulations to the graduating class of 2023!

Check to see if you have outstanding balances using myDSD. Payments may be made online or in the school’s main office.  

A QR code linking to the clearance list will be posted throughout the school for seniors to see if they are cleared for graduation. The clearance list will be posted on the WX homepage. Seniors with an X in any category are NOT eligible to pick up their cap and gown. An X indicates a hold due to fines, citizenship, credit deficiencies, are failing a fourth term class, or have not taken the senior survey & Scholarship Survey. 

Students should see their counselor with questions.  

Students who are not cleared by the 16th may pick up their cap and gown through the counseling office during lunch only. 

 The 2023 Virtual Awards and Scholarships Presentation will be streamed beginning at 6:00 pm. This online event highlights seniors’ honors, awards, and scholarships. Please join us at 6:00 pm at https://youtu.be/oJqZfhLMVz0

Turn in school-issued device during 2/6 period. A fine will be added to students who do not turn in their school-issued device. Students with fines will not be issued a diploma. 

Credits must be entered on transcripts to verify clearance for graduation.  No exceptions.

This is a Woods Cross High School senior-only event. Cost will be $40 per senior. Individual tickets may be purchased in myDSD between May 2-13. The University of Utah Scholarship Room is located at Rice-Eccles Stadium, 451 S 1400 E in Salt Lake City.

Graduation Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. in the Dee Events Center at Weber State University, 4444 Event Center Drive in Ogden. Graduates should arrive at the Dee Events Center by 6:00 p.m.  No tickets are required this year; all are welcome.  

The Dee Events Center will also stream graduation for those who are unable to attend in person. Use the following link https://www.weber.edu/high-school-graduations/default.html at noon on May 27th. The "Watch" link adjacent to Woods Cross High School at https://weber.edu/eventandsportfacilities/deeeventscenter.html will be activated following the graduation ceremony for asynchronous viewing, typically within 24-48 hours. 

Cost is $40 in advance and $50 at the door. This event is sponsored by the PTSA and is only for Woods Cross High School graduates.
