Congratulations to Hayden Baughman and Corban Forsythe, who tied for the highest score from Davis High at the State Math Contest at Utah Valley University. Holden Dao had the second highest Davis score, and Ethan Jones had the third highest score. Way to go!

Congratulations to Davis high musical and advanced theatre groups who took home a number of awards from the Utah high school musical theater awards. Congratulations to beauty and the beast cast and crew for winning best scenic design, bronco Maxfield who brought home the Broadway dreams award for best male actor. George Hickman won best supporting actor in the state for his role of Gaston, and congratulations to Alex Farnsworth who won Best Male Actor in the state for his role of Hermes in Hadestown. Alex will move onto the national competition, the Jimmy Awards, in New York this June!

Davis High Choir: Auditions for next year's Limited Edition, A Cappella Choir and Madrigals are coming up, April 28th, 29th and 30th. Information is available on posters throughout the school, on the school website, or in the choir room. Signups for an audition time are on the choir office door. Come and share your talents!!

Are you interested in becoming a Student Body Officer or a Class officer? There will be an election information meeting for current Juniors and Sophomores who are interested in student government on April 9th at 2:30 in room 1801. Congratulations to Jonny Reed who set a new Davis high school record in the 3200 at the track meet this weekend.

Over the past week our talented musicians took the stage to perform for the region solo and ensemble festival. The band and orchestra had a combined 69 participants with 48 receiving a superior ratings and 37 of those students qualifying for the state festival in April. Great work showing off your soaring solos and dynamic ensembles!

Junior week is next week! March 11-15th. Join us on Tuesday at Classic Fun Center for free skating from 7-9pm! Wednesday in the main gym for a movie night from 6-9, bring a blanket or chair to sit on and concessions can be purchased! Thursday at the Prom assembly in the main gym Friday at lunch for The Zone Bus, Burges, and Gnarlys food trucks! And Saturday for Prom at the Capitol from 7-10pm!

Monday March 10th is teacher professional day, there will be no school for students.

Girls Golf February 24th and 25th, tee times start at 3:30 pm both days for 9 holes at Davis Park Girls Lacrosse February 24th 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm & February 25th 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on the Davis High Turf. Baseball February 24th 3:30-6 at the Punisher Facility in Centerville. Address is 1090 North 1300 West Centerville, Ut 84114. Team will be posted that night by 7:30pm on the South Doors. Softball February 24th & 25th 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm at the Davis High Softball Field weather permitting. If the weather does not permit, we will be at the High School. Boys Tennis Monday & Tuesday February 24th -25th, 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm at the Davis High Tennis Courts. This is of course contingent on any weather issues. Attention All Juniors: Friday, February 21 is Higher Ed. Day here at Davis High. Representatives from Utah colleges will be here to meet with you and answer questions about admission and scholarships.

Hope Squad is collecting items to help create victim relief kits that officers can take with them when responding to incidents where children have been affected. These kits have the ability to ease the trauma that victimization can have on a child . We are in need of crayons, coloring books, small fidgets, and hygiene/feminine hygiene products. Donations need to be new and unopened. Donations can be dropped off in the counseling center now through March 3rd.

Next week starting February 24th is Davis High unity week. Monday is Super hero day, dress like your favorite super hero Tuesday is Davis Day at Rush Fun Plex join us at rush in Syracuse from 7-9 pm where unlimited activity passes will be discounted for Davis High students. $12 gets you a two hour unlimited activity pass. Wednesday we will have games in the commons at lunch Thursday is the unity assembly, join us in the gym where unified basketball will take on the boys and girls basketball teams in a fun fill game of basketball. Friday we will have just dance in the commons at lunch.

Next week is FFA Week starting February 18th. Tuesday the 18th will be dress like Mr. Spaulding Friday will be lunch in room 1416 for FFA members. We will be collecting pet food donations for the Davis Animal Shelter . New toys or pet food can be donated bring to room 1416 we will be collecting from February 18th until Friday February 28th.
