South Clearfield Elementary School third grade teacher Kylie Blake has been named the Davis School District’s Outstanding New Educator for the 2024-25 school year.
During the surprise award ceremony which took place during a school faculty meeting, Blake was commended for “demonstrating extraordinary dedication, compassion and talent as a new educator.”
The honor also commended her for fostering meaningful connections with students, embracing innovation and inspiring a culture of curiosity, kindness and growth.
“Her impact is already felt deeply and will ripple through her school community for years to come,” the commendation read.
As part of the award, Blake received a cash award as well as a 3D printer that she will put to good use in her classroom.
Blake is a former student of South Clearfield—attending the old school before it was raised and replaced by the current one (thank you Davis County voters.)
"It's fun to now be co-workers with people who were once my teachers," she said. "I love telling my students stories about things that happened to me when I was their age. ... One of my favorite parts is seeing that so many of the school traditions are still continuing. We still wear Panther shirts every Friday, have lunch with the mayor and students participate in swim lessons."
Blake is a graduate of Clearfield High School, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University and a Master of Arts in English Language Learning degree from Western Governors University.
The award is sponsored by the Davis Education Foundation, Tanner Clinic and the Young Caring For Our Young Foundation.
